SHAMROCK SHAKE

There are a lot of shamrock shakes out there, but this one is nutritious and delicious!  Feel free to make it any time of the year.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 frozen ripe banana

  • 1 handful of spinach

  • 1 handful of mint leaves (about 10-15 mint leaves)

  • 3/4 cup of oat milk

  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (or use vanilla protein powder)

  • 1 tablespoon of dark chocolate chips

ENJOY!

Note: For the frozen banana – you want the peel to be spotty with little brown dots – that’s how you know a banana is really sweet!  Once I have a bunch of super spotty bananas, I peel them, break them into 2 inch pieces and place them in the freezer in a plastic baggie.  Then I add them to my smoothies whenever I make one and because the banana is frozen, I don’t need to use ice!

Substitutions: You can use cacao powder or a chocolate protein powder as a substitute for the chocolate chips, and you could also skip the chocolate and turn this more into a vanilla shamrock shake.
